Hi Queen and  welcome to the month of November!

This is my favorite time of year, not just because of my birthday, but because it's Diabetes Awareness Month!I wanted to take a moment to share something very personal and close to my heart today. For the past two years, I have been on a journey of dedication, resilience, and self-discovery as I navigate the challenges of weight loss while living with type 2 diabetes. It hasn't been easy, but I can already see the positive impact it's had on my life, by creating healthier habits.

I know some of you might be asking, "Aren't you too young to be diabetic 🤔?” It's a common question that stems from the preconceived notion that only older people can develop it and, the answers no. Unfortunately in the last 20 years, the number of adults diagnosed with diabetes has more than doubled as the American population has aged.

Let me start by saying that this hasn't been an easy road. It has its fair share of challenges, but I've come to realize that my commitment to a healthier lifestyle is what will ultimately lead me to a brighter future.

Living with type 2 diabetes can sometimes feel overwhelming, but I refuse to let it define me. Instead, I choose to see it as a motivator to take control of my health and make positive changes. One of the key elements to my success so far has been staying dedicated. This means staying committed to regular exercise, making healthier food choices, and managing my diabetes with the guidance of my healthcare team. It hasn't always been easy, but with each small step forward, I feel more empowered.

Here are five 5 common myths I had to confront on this journey and pushing past them helped me succeed in lowering my A1C.

1."It's too difficult to stick to a healthy lifestyle."

Believe me, I've had my fair share of ups and downs throughout this journey. But here's the thing: despite the challenges, I've come to realize that nothing is more important than taking care of my health. Yes, it can feel challenging at times, but the rewards far outweigh the temporary struggles. Remember, every step forward counts, no matter how small!

2. "I don't have time for exercise."

Time is a precious commodity, and trust me, I understand the feeling of being overwhelmed. However, finding time for exercise doesn't always mean hours spent at the gym. Simply incorporating a thirty-minute walk during lunch breaks or doing a quick workout in the comfort of your own home can make a huge difference. Remember, progress is progress, no matter how small the effort!

3."I can't resist my cravings."

Cravings,we all know them too well! But let me tell you, giving in to those temptations may provide short-term satisfaction, but it won't do any favors for your long-term health. Instead, try focusing on finding substitutes for your favorite indulgences and treats. You'll be amazed at how delicious and satisfying healthier options can be! Remember, you're in control!

4. "I don't see immediate results."

Patience is a virtue, my friends. Weight loss and managing diabetes takes time, and real, sustainable change doesn't happen overnight. Celebrate every small victory along the way, whether it's losing a few pounds, seeing improved blood sugar levels, or simply feeling more energized. Trust the process, and you'll be astonished by the lasting results!

5. "I can't do it alone."

Support is crucial on this journey, and you don't have to face it alone. Reach out to your loved ones, join support groups, or even seek guidance from healthcare professionals. Remember, there are countless people out there who understand what you're going through and are ready to lend their support and encouragement
