Elevation Is The Situation
Queens,
How does it feel to have your dreams come true? I’ve always been a dreamer and I can recall vividly, the day I graduated with my Master’s degree in Communications. I felt bold, empowered, and unstoppable because I fought repeatedly to overcome adversity and I achieved my goals. Though I was eager to stomp my stilettos on history it was not yet my season. Now it is.
“Thank God the struggle made me stronger.”
I could never have imagined the journey that I would begin to embark on with my Mom battling breast cancer, and being on the unemployment line. Following a chain of events, I begin to shrink and fall back into old toxic habits. Fast forward four years later, I have a job that I love, I am using my skills to run a blog that has generated amazing exposure and I recently had the opportunity to film a commercial with WW, a globally recognized brand. Thank God the struggle made me stronger!
Elevation is the situation, now that I have arrived I have plans to keep moving and the time has come to write about change. When I flew to Los Angeles to film the commercial it was at that moment that I realized I was done allowing myself to shrink. I had to get rid of my old self because that version of me was no longer equipped to venture into this next level of my life. The greatest act of self-love is to no longer accept a life you are not happy with and I am at a place in my life now where only peace, love, faith and compassion for others can exist. What are some of your dreams?
